SIRIOL & TALFAN JENKINS ‘GENTLE JAZZ’ DUO – Fri 9th Aug 8.00pm-9.00pm at TY HELYG LOUNGE (advance £8, standard £10)

LINEUP: Siriol Jenkins piano / Talfan Jenkins saxophone

Siriol and Talfan Jenkins are a Pembrokeshire-based brother and sister music duo who perform improvised jazz standards and modern saxophone compositions. Recent stage performances include the Gwyl Fawr Festival Concert, Cardigan – Narberth and Whitland Rotary Presidential, Tenby Music Festival. They grew up together both sharing a passion for music.  Originally classically trained, Siriol and Talfan discovered a love of jazz while still young. Their influences range from 20th century traditional jazz giants, to bebop and modern jazz stars.

Siriol Jenkins is studying music at Oxford University, and receives piano tuition at the Royal College of Music. She plans to build her career as a jazz pianist and composer.

Talfan Jenkins has a string of national woodwind trophies to his name and studies jazz at diploma level at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. He will be going to Trinity Laban Conservatoire in September.

Their performance will include jazz standards by John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, and Bill Evans.
