Inspite of their travel problems earlier in the month Ibou Tall (keyboards) and Ben Hands (bass) from the Jazzmates lineup make it to Brecon Jazz 2021 The event if fully transferable for all ticket holders from the 8th August event, but please let us know if you are coming in advance via tickesource.

Jazz is not a musical genre one immediately associates with Senegal, although the West African country has many fans and musicians. Also Africa’s Largest Jazz Festival takes place in Saint-Louis, Dakar. In fact this small French speaking country is ideally located for travel from South Africa, South America, America and from Europe has become the focal point for jazz, and African-American music and all kinds of music.

Ibou will explain the origins of the ‘Senjazz’ musical genre supported by band member Ben Hands. They will demonstrate the Senjazz style from their own tracks such as “Tribute to Xamle”, “LL” , “Massani Cisse” with additional parts from tracks “Seeyeul” and Expression” played by Ibou on keyboards.
A facinating introduction can also be found in the interview and duet with the French composer, arranger, and musician Jean Philippe Rykiel and the track from Expressions. Ibou is supported by jazz fusion and cross over bassist by Ben Hands,
