Biography

TOMORROW’S NEW QUARTET Tues 12th Dec 8pm @ The Muse

LINE UP: Deschanel Gordon (piano) Helena Kay (alto) Flo Moore (bass) Rod Oughton (drums)

A terrific quartet of younger musicians led by RWCMD graduate drummer Rod Oughton. Tomorrow’s New Quartet play a mix of melodic compositions and familiar standards showcasing the talents of all four players. Rod has appeared in lineups and guest roles many times over the years for BJC, most notably with pianist Juan Galiardo on his tours, as well as with guitarist Tom Ollendorff. Saxophonist Helena Kay (alto) impressed this summer in the Zoe Rahman lineup for BJF23, and Flo Moore memorably performed in the ‘Brecon Jazz from London’ 2021 livestream with Terence Collie and Trio. Pianist & composer Deschanel Gordon is the winner of BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year 2020 Award and one of the hottest new names around the London jazz scene. Rod brings this brilliant team of outstanding jazz professionals from across UK for an unmissable first concert at Brecon Jazz Club.

NB Doors Open 7.30pm for 8pm start.
